Many hospitals don't realize the potential of using Facebook as part of their online marketing efforts. If used powerfully, this social network can be a tremendous part of their online marketing strategies.
I recently interviewed Steve Leibforth, Sr. Web Developer for Provena Health - a six hospital system in the Chicagoland area. In this 10 minute conversation, we discussed the lessons Steve learned in building an effective social media strategy around Provena's Facebook page, driving targeted patients online to discover and explore the variety of services that Provena provides, and drive them to his website. With helpful tips and tricks that other hospitals can use, Steve describes the successes he's realized.

Facebook can be an effective marketing method for hospitals. It acts as another avenue to reach consumers and finding them in social places where they spend their time. FB can be used to communicating upcoming events and relaying information to consumers. Great way to stay in front of them in a non-intrusive way.
